My name is Chanelle R. Walker. I was a classroom teacher for 10 years. I taught middle school English. Over the time I was a teacher, I noticed that we had so much professional development about so many topics, but none on teacher and student wellness and burnout prevention.

In 2019, I did a TEDx talk about the topic titled The Elephant in the Classroom. Since then, my company, Professional Inspiration has been partnering with NYC DOE's After School Professional Development Program (ASPDP) to provide courses that address educator wellness and student wellness.  Our courses aim to help teachers to make their wellness a priority and be models for wellness to their students.
