3 credits -In this course, Mindfulness for You and Me: Implementing Mindfulness to Improve Outcomes Overall, participants will learn how mindfulness can help improve the social, emotional and cognitive wellness of students and teachers.

Are these courses ASPDP approved?

Yes. All courses are approved through ASPDP and are eligible for NYC DOE salary differential credit when all requirements are completed.

 

How many ASPDP credits will I earn?

Each course is worth 3 ASPDP credits.
Our 4-course bundles earn 12 ASPDP credits. ASPDP does NOT allow educators to take more than 12 credits per semester.

 

Are the courses self-paced?

Yes. All courses are 100% online and self-paced, so you can complete them on your schedule within the ASPDP semester timeline.

 

How do I receive ASPDP credit?

  1. Enroll in your course/s with Professional Inspiration

  2. Register with ASPDP by the semester deadline in your enrolled course/s

  3. You will appear on our ASPDP class roster in the course/courses

  4. Complete the course requirements

  5. We submit your grade to ASPDP at the end of the semester. (ASPDP gives us two weeks to submit all grades and documents.)

  6. ASPDP verifies grades and issues document verifying completion.

 

When is the ASPDP registration deadline?

Each semester has an ASPDP registration deadline. For the Spring 2026 semester, you must register with ASPDP by April 13, 2026.

Can I take courses with Professional Inspiration between ASPDP semesters?

Yes, you can enroll in and work on Professional Inspiration course work between ASPDP registration windows. Once the registration window opens, you can register for the corresponding course/s with ASPDP. You will receive your grade/s at the end of the said semester that you registered with ASPDP. Keep in mind, you can only register with ASPDP for a maximum of 12 credits per semester.

How will ASPDP know I completed the course?

Once you enroll with Professional Inspiration and ASPDP, you are added to our ASPDP class roster.
We submit your final grade to ASPDP at the end of the semester. ASPDP then verifies your completion and provides you completion documentation in the ASPDP portal.

 

Do these courses count toward salary differential?

Yes. These ASPDP-approved courses are eligible for NYC DOE salary differential when completed successfully.

When are grades submitted to ASPDP?

Grades are submitted at the end of the ASPDP semester. ASPDP then verifies grades and processes CTLE documentation.

 

Can I take more than one course?

Yes. Many educators choose a bundle to earn 12 ASPDP credits in one semester. 

 

Do I have to complete the courses at the same time?

No. Courses are self-paced, and you can complete them at your own pace within the semester.

 

Who can take these courses?

According to ASPDP FAQs:

"All educators and school staff may take ASPDP courses to further their own knowledge and develop their instructional practices. Teachers may take any approved A+ course, even if it is not in the subject area or grade level they are certified for.

Fully-appointed NYC DOE teachers may receive A+ or P credit towards salary differential requirements.

Guidance counselors may receive P credit for Guidance or Special Education courses.

You may also receive Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) credit if you are:

• A full-time NYC DOE teacher • A guidance counselor • A paraprofessional • A New York State private or parochial school teacher • A New York State charter school teacher."

Who is the instructor?

All courses are created by Chanelle R. Walker, M.Ed., former classroom educator and wellness advocate. Chanelle is the instructor of record, and is instructing and interviewing course experts in all the courses. Professional Inspiration also has a small team of assistant course facilitators who provide reflection feedback and answer emails.
